Lavinia Black: Former player and Umpire.
Lavinia [Roberts] Black along with Claire [Lucas] Tomlinson lead the crusade in England in the early 1970's to change the way women played polo. This led the challenge to allow women to compete in high goal polo. They both honed their skills in Argentina. Lavinia a 2-goal handicap player in her day at Cowdray and later at Cirencester, daughter of Squadron Leader Alan Roberts, who played on his own Maidensgrove team at Cowdray Park.
